2024 | community gardening sessions
Throughout the past year, Colectiva Maleza organised weekly community gardening sessions on campus not only to care for the soil, but to reimagine what a garden could be. These gatherings became a living classroom: we planted, listened, and opened space for critical conversations around ecology, care, decoloniality, and collective resistance. After a while due to circumstances we deciced to go outside these institutional walls.
Grafting knowledge—Inviting artist Laura Palau
Maleza invited artist and researcher Laura Palau to our Sint-Lucas garden. She organized a hands-on workshop on grafting, both apple trees and ways of knowing. The trees grafted during this session will be planted on campus as living markers for future generations, rooting embodied, ecological knowledge within the institutional ground of our art school.
